Situation: Matte Painting done for a TV series project at Globo Studios in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Task: based on a military village in São Paulo. The project consisted of removing elements present in the original location, such as trees and power lines, rebuilding part of the central house, creating a house extension on one side of the central house and adding elements to the background of the scene.
Action: I removed the tree at the front of the house, extended the scene to the right using images from different angles of the same shooting location, and also changed the original colors of the houses. Finally, I inserted elements into the background of the image and created a sky mask, where a new sky was inserted.
Result: This project was carried out completely manually, as at the time the use of artificial intelligence tools to assist and remove elements was not yet a reality.
